AI can write a blog post in seconds. That does not mean it should publish one without rules. After building GoAutoSiteAI, an AI platform that runs WordPress sites on autopilot, and testing it on my own sites, here is what actually works.
Why most AI content fails
The problem is rarely the writing. It is everything around it:
- Articles that answer nothing a real person searched for
- Thin pages with no structure, no FAQ and no clear answer
- Wrong language signals, so Google is not sure who the page is for
- Publishing far more than anyone ever checks
Google does not punish AI. It punishes pages that are not helpful.
Start from real questions
The best automation starts with what people actually search. In GoAutoSiteAI, the easiest mode takes one topic and suggests real questions people search for. You tick the ones you want, and only then does writing start.
This one step removes most low-value content before it is ever created.
Build quality rules into the system
Good automation follows the same rules every time, without getting tired:
- Focus keyword in the SEO title, naturally, not stuffed.
- Proper heading structure, so the article can be scanned.
- An FAQ section that answers the follow-up questions people really ask.
- Full-length articles where the topic needs it, around 2,000 words for guides, shorter where shorter is better.
- Images: a featured image on every post, and real photos where they help.
- Disclosure on affiliate articles, in the article's own language.
- The correct page language tag, including right-to-left for Arabic and Urdu.
Check the score before it goes live
An SEO plugin score is not everything, but it catches obvious mistakes. A practical problem: Rank Math only scores a post after someone opens it in the editor, so automated posts showed "N/A". GoAutoSiteAI runs Rank Math's own analyzer in the background instead. On the test site, generated articles scored between 70 and 86 out of 100 before any manual editing.
Publish at a human pace
Publishing hundreds of posts in a day looks unnatural and leaves no time to check quality. A steady schedule (one, two or three posts a day) is easier to review, easier for search engines to crawl and easier to improve.
Refresh instead of only adding
Old articles go stale. Refreshing an existing post, keeping the same link and saving the old version as a revision, often does more for traffic than writing something new.
Tell search engines immediately
When a post goes live, notify search engines with IndexNow and keep your sitemap up to date. It does not guarantee rankings, but it removes waiting time.
Measure what matters
Rankings move slowly. Watch impressions and clicks in Google Search Console, which pages earn them, and which topics never do. Then write more of what works.
Automation should remove the repeated work, not the judgement. The owner still chooses topics and checks quality.
